Webnames.ca COO featured in the ‘New Pioneers: Stories of 100 B.C. Women Entrepreneurs' Book

Vancouver, BC, November 3, 2008 - Webnames.ca Inc. (www.webnames.ca) is pleased to announce today that its Chief Operating Officer, Cybele Negris, has been featured in the recently released book New Pioneers: Stories of 100 BC Women Entrepreneurs.

New Pioneers is a full colour, coffee-table size book celebrating contemporary BC female entrepreneurship and innovation. Women entrepreneurs from 42 communities around the province were chosen to be profiled because they are role models and new pioneers in business. The book was compiled and published by the Women's Enterprise Centre.

"At Women’s Enterprise Centre, we feel it is not only important to recognize and celebrate our entrepreneurial roots, but also essential to record those accomplishments for the generations to come" said Laurel Douglas, CEO of the Women's Enterprise Centre. "It is our hope that this book will build that awareness and encourage, influence, inspire, provide role models and motivate women and girls to consider entrepreneurship."

In addition to being the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Webnames.ca, Ms. Negris is Co-Founder and Director of CBD Construction. She has also served on the board of the Forum for Women's Entrepreneurs and as President of Wired Women Vancouver. She has also been named to the Profit W100 for the past 5 years and a finalist for the 2007 YWCA of Vancouver Women of Distinction Awards.

"I am extremely honoured to be featured among these amazing women entrepreneurs and hope the book will inspire other women to make the jump to starting their own business" said Ms. Negris.

The book was funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada; the BC Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport and BC150; and the BC Ministry of Small Business & Revenue, BDC (Business Development Bank of Canada).

The book was officially launched on October 21, 2008 to celebrate Small Business Month in BC and Women's History Month in Canada. Free copies of the book can be ordered through the Women’s Enterprise Centre website at http://www.womensenterprise.ca/content/new-pioneers-stories-100-bc-women-entrepreneurs.
