Vancouver, BC, May 30, 2006 - Webnames.ca's John Demco has been recognized as one of Canada's new media leaders. Demco was awarded a prestigious Pixel award in recognition of his significant achievements in new media in the "Lifetime Achievement" category of the 2006 Canadian New Media Awards (CNMA). Celebrity host and presenter, Alan Park joined 500 industry supporters to celebrate the CNMA awards at The Carlu in Toronto on May 29th, 2006.

All award recipients were selected by a 135 member jury recruited from the industry and higher education institutions in new media from across the country as well from the members of the Canadian Coalition of New Media Associations. The recipients hailed from all across the country and represented a wide range of government, private and public organizations from every facet of the new media industry including programmers, designers, educators and advocates.
