Webnames.ca's President awarded Business in Vancouver's Top 40 Under 40 Award
Vancouver, BC, January 6, 2006 - This week's issue of Business in Vancouver announced that Steve Smith, President of Webnames.ca, has been chosen as one of British Columbia's top young business talents.
Each year, 40 top business leaders under the age of 40 are selected by an independent judging panel assembled by the newspaper. Nominees are judged on their professional accomplishments, professional recognition, and community and charitable involvement. Established fifteen years ago, this prestigious award Top 40 under 40 Award celebrates Vancouver men and women who have become outstanding leaders in their chosen fields before reaching 40 years of age.
Business in Vancouver, joined by corporate sponsors Audi, KPMG, YEO Vancouver, and the Sauder School of Business, will recognize Smith and other recipients of the 2005 "Forty Under 40" Award at a gala reception at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on February 22, 2006.
Mr. Smith is President and CEO of Webnames.ca, Canada's leading domain name registrar, and has led his team of professionals to the forefront of their industry. "This year has been an exciting year for Webnames.ca and for me personally," said Smith. "We continued to grow our business through the introduction of new services such as webhosting and digital certificates and recently celebrated the company's 5th anniversary - a major milestone in the domain name registration industry. It is an honor to be recognized by Business in Vancouver, and I thank my family, colleagues, and friends for their support."
