Unable to Send Email
It has become increasingly common that Internet Service Providers block outbound mail that is not destined for their own mail server (i.e. Telus only allows their customers to send out email via smtp.telus.ca for example) in order to limit the proliferation of spam. Webnames also now restricts traffic on unencrypted mail ports for the same reasons.
Webnames email customers are now required to connect to our mail servers using a method that supports SSL encryption, which all email clients support. Generic connection settings for IMAP are found below, while links for the setup of specific mail clients is found at bottom

The following settings can be generally applied within any Email Client in order to utilize your email account via IMAP w/ SSL.
- Username:Full Email Address
- Password:Your Password
- Incoming Mail Server:securemail.webnames.ca
- Outgoing Mail Server:securemail.webnames.ca
- Incoming Server Port:993
- Incoming SSL:Enabled
- Outgoing Server Port:587 (Optionally, port 465)
- Outgoing SSL:Enabled
- Webmail Lite:https://securemail.webnames.ca
- Pronto Webmail:https://securemail.webnames.ca
- Webmail Username:Full Email Address
- Email Administration:http://mailadmin.webnames.ca Use postmaster@ account credentials to access.
