Organizational Pre-Validation

How It Works

After an initial validation of your Organization (which occurs on your initial purchase and configuration of a DigiCert, GeoTrust or Thawte OV or EV certificate), your Organization will remain validated for the following 13 months.

During those 13 months, certificate issuance and renewals for that same organization can be done almost immediately because the organization part of the validation process has already been performed and is regarded as still being valid.

Digicert - All OV and EV certificates
GeoTrust - All OV and EV Certificates
Thawte - All OV and EV Certificates

Using Organizational Pre-Validation

If you have purchased and configured an applicable Digicert SSL certificate in the last 13 months, when configuring subsequent applicable SSL certificates, the name of your now pre-validated Organization will appear in a drop down at the bottom of the SSL Configuration page

By selecting a pre-validated Organization, those steps applicable to organizational validation will not need to take place. Note that domain validation via email or DNS record will still need to take place for each certificate, unless the certificate is for a subdomain, and validation has already been completed on the second-level domain.
