Features:

• When you register a domain name, your personal information including name, address, phone number and email are listed in a public WHOIS database. An "unlisted" or "private" WHOIS record protects from identity theft and impersonation, prevents spam and telemarketing, and reduces unsolicited direct mail.
• Replaces the Administrative, Technical and Billing contacts of your WHOIS record with generic Webnames Services Inc. contact information.

With Webnames Privacy you retain ownership and complete control of your domain. For .CA domains, you will continue to be listed as the Registrant name. For all other domain extensions, your Organization/Company name in the WHOIS will be set to Webnames Services Inc. If you desire full anonymity for .CA domain names, please contact Webnames.ca Support.

 

Account Lock

Features:

• Restrict access to your account to a specific IP Address.
• Protects against domain theft, unauthorized transfers, deletions and tampering.
• Added security in the event of a password leak or rogue employee.

Registrar Lock

Price: $199.99 / domain / year

Features:

• Enables domain lock at Registry which prevents updates to domain (transfers or name server updates).
• Lock can only be removed through purpose-specific manual authentication process.
• Lock cannot be removed via customer Webnames account.
• In the case of unauthorized access to a Webnames account, domain transfers or updates cannot be performed.
• Prevents domain name from being hijacked.
• Provides protection from domain theft, transfers, deletion and updates.
• Prevents changes to name-servers.
• Available for all domain extensions

Registrar Lock implements a layer of security from Webnames.ca in order to protect a domain name from any unauthorized changes.

CIRA Registry Lock

Price: $399.99 / domain / year

Features:

• Enables domain lock at Registry which prevents updates to domain (transfers or name server updates).
• Lock can only be removed by the Registry Operator directly (CIRA.CA) through two-stage purpose-specific manual authentication processes.
• Lock cannot be removed by customer via Webnames account.
• Lock cannot be removed by general Registrar staff
• In the case of unauthorized access to a Webnames account, domain transfers or updates cannot be performed.
• Prevents .CA domain name from being hijacked.
• Provides protection from domain theft, transfers, deletion and updates.
• Prevents changes to name-servers.
• Available for .CA domain names only
