Maximum Term for Renewals
Domain names can be renewed in 1 year increments. Each domain extension also features a maximum registration term, which for most domain is 10 years.
New Registrations: Domains may be registered for 1 to 10 years, in 1 year increments.
Renewals: Domains may be renewed for 1 to 10 years, in 1 year increments*
*The maximum available term is governed by the Registry policy which states that at no point may the expiry date of a domain name be further than 10 years into the future from the current date. Therefore, the maximum term available for a domain renewal is calculated as follows:
- The maximum term allowed by the respective Registry (e.g. 10 years)
- Subtract the amount of time left on the domain's current registration
- And then round down to the nearest whole year.
Please see the domain specific section of this FAQ for the maximum term available for your domain.
